Microneedling with PRP option
Microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation. For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, tighten skin, lighten brown spots or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. We also offer PRP as an add on to your Microneedling session.
Why Is PRP so important and how does it help the Microneedling session?
Microneedling with PRP also known as the Vampire Facial uses the power of your blood’s platelets to rejuvenate skinand reinvigorate cellular turnover. Platelets have the unique ability to rev up collagen and elastin production, which helps repair the following skin issues: Uneven skin tone. Wrinkles and fine lines.
PRP is created from a person’s own blood, and is a concentrated blend of plasma cells and specific growth factors. When combined with the needling into tissue, it bathes the cells to naturally stimulate the healing process. As a regenerative technique that accelerates the body’s natural healing processes, in conjunction with microneedling, the treated area of skin can restore and rejuvenate for a firmer, more youthful texture and flexibility.
Microneedling with PRP offers fairly immediate results.
From microneedling alone, you will look plump, pink and luminous for a couple of weeks. On a short-term basis, it plumps the skin and makes the skin look more radiant from inflammation and very superficial swelling. Skin treated with four microneedling sessions spaced one month apart produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment.
We know what you’re probably thinking: poking little holes into your face in the name of beauty sounds insane. But microneedling is relatively risk-free and can have real benefits for your skin.
Treatment results include: skin hydration, increased skin tone and smoothness causing existing wrinkles to be less visible and skin younger looking and shall last for a few months and its even for hair growth if that is your goal. Results become visible 24 hours after the procedure for the skin and for hair growth after a few weeks to a month you will start to see new growth. The procedure is repeated up to three times 10 to 14 days apart.

Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment you’ll have an increase in collagen production. It takes at least four weeks to see full results. Usually on day 3 you will notice the ” Microneedle Glow” The new collagen will last for several years, which is why micro needling treatment is considered a very long lasting treatment.
Here’s The Benefits to Microneedling with PRP
Improves the quality and texture of your skin (immediately)
The microneedling procedure takes about 1 hour long and in order to get the best results should leave the skin with some pin point bleeding (yes some blood is a GOOD thing). Even with the pinpoint bleeding and the slight redness that occurs for up to about 1-1.5 days afterwards, you will notice an IMMEDIATE improvement in the texture and quality of your skin. And starting at around age 30 this collagen starts to degrade naturally (other things can even make the degradation happen more quickly as well), which is when women start to notice slight changes and sagging in their skin. The good news is that this healing process starts almost right after the procedure. Which is why you notice a soft texture to your skin immediately afterwards. Even the day after the procedure it just looks like you have a light sunburn from the redness, but you can definitely go to work or out on a date the following day if necessary.
Reduces pock marks and scarring
Another huge benefit is that skin needling (or microneedling, they are both words for the same procedure) helps reduce acne scars which are notoriously difficult to treat.
So how does microneedling help with scarring?
When you have any sort of scarring on your face (or anywhere on your body) your body naturally undergoes a process known as fibrosis.
This is good when healing, because it makes everything stick together, but beneath the skin the glue is so strong that it can literally pull the skin down and create pock marks or scarring on the surface of the skin.
Microneedling tends to work best on scars that are small, result in tenting of the skin or pocking of the skin.
It doesn’t work as well for large lacerations (like the kind of scars that require stitches).
This procedure is also great if you have a slightly uneven texture from years of acne, but not overt scarring (like the pock marks mentioned above).
Reduces black heads
This is another pretty cool side effect of microneedling and is especially helpful for women who suffer from LOTS of black heads (especially those who have PCOS, or hormonal acne).
The controlled trauma and thousands of needle pokes actually liberate and knock out black heads during the entire procedure.
Immediately after you will notice a reduction in the total volume of black heads on your face (especially in your nose, but be careful because the nose is sensitive!).
You will also notice that your pores are smaller in size for about 3-4 weeks after the procedure due to the healing effects and revascularization that occurs.
The reduction in black heads doesn’t last forever though! It usually only lasts around 3-4 weeks which is right in time for when you would need to do the procedure again.
You can further reduce black head and pore size by using the right kind of aftercare and Vitamin C serum.
Treats acne and cystic acne
Not only does Microneedling Facial Miami help treat acne scars, but it can also help treat and stop acne.
How exactly it helps acne is not well understood but it seems to be due to the fact that microneedling results in a reduction in sebum production and makes the skin less oily.
Reducing oil production on the skin and reducing black heads likely plays a role as well…
Either way, studies have shown that microneedling does indeed help treat acne.
This is mostly helpful because it means you can still get the treatment done if you are having active breakouts.
This is important because some procedures (like dermaplaning) shouldn’t be done if you have active pimples.
Microneedling with PRP helps with hair loss
While microneedling revs up collagen production in the scalp just like it does on the face, it also brings blood flow and nutrients to the scalp and induces new stem cells that support hair growth. Clients who use microneedling in conjunction with traditional hair loss therapies showed a greater improvement in hair re-growth after only 12 weeks. We recommend a series of 4-6 sessions with a return of every 4-6 weeks.
Exfoliates the skin
Pretty much any treatment that mechanically disrupts the epidermis will result in some exofliatiation.
This is important because your dead skin cells live on this layer and removing this layer of the epidermis makes your skin look fresh and smooth almost instantly.
Makes you look younger by reducing fine lines and wrinkles
This might be the single best and more important benefit of microneedling…
That it can actually help you LOOK younger and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
How does microneedling make you look younger?
It has been shown that the small pin holes created by the thousands of needles break into the upper levels of the dermis and cause the release of growth factors to “repair” and “heal” from the microdamage that has been caused.
Basically your body is overreacting to the small trauma thinking that there is a BIGGER trauma and this healing process results in the release of growth factors that increase collagen and elastin levels.
In addition to the stimulation of collagen the microtrauma also results in the formulation of tons of little blood vessels which supply blood, oxygen and nutrients straight into the dermis.
The combination of these changes results in a reduction in wrinkles, healing of photodamage and tightening of existing skin – all of which makes you LOOK younger.
Reduces hyperpigmentation and evens skin the skin tone
Finally, Microneedling also helps with your skin tone and can reduce hyperpigmentation.
Hyperpigmentation refers to the slight changes in your skin that can occur from inflammation, pimples, black heads, white heads, etc.
Basically any sort of skin problem results in changes in color to the underlying skin which doesn’t match the surrounding skin.
This leaves the skin looking blotchy and uneven.
What does the procedure entail?
For optimal comfort, a numbing cream will be applied to the face 30 minutes prior to the procedure. Before the start of the treatment the numbing cream is removed and a small amount of Gel ( Skin infusion of serums specific to skin type) on a small area of the skin. The Microneedling pen is then glided over that area of the face The process is continued until the entire face/area is treated.
What does microneedling feel like?
The Microneedling procedure feels similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin. Expect areas around the eyes and forehead to be a little more sensitive but the short-time discomfort is well worth the results.
How long will a Microneedling take?
Including the application of numbing cream an entire full face procedure will take 45 minutes- hour. Longer if you add PRP as we will need to collect your blood and get the Plasma rich proteins from it.
What will I look like after Microneedling?
Most people will notice redness and mild swelling similar to slight sunburn for 24-48 hours and there may be slight pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising. On day 3 most love the Microneedling glow. Skin will be noticeably smoother and more radiant as the weeks go by. Full results will take at least a month to months to appear , depending on your situations and circumstances .
What does the procedure involve?
Microneedling begins with collection of blood if you choose PRP add on. Then cleaning and numbing the skin. A collagen-stimulating product, Vitamin C serum, and/or skin lightener is also used. A small pen with 12 or 36 tiny needles is used to create tiny wounds in the skin. The speed and adjustability of the needles allows for more effective piercing and absorption of skin products. Hyaluronic acid, sheet masks or vitamin c serums are used after the procedure to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
What is the down time after microneedling treatment?
Inflammation of the skin is very temporary and reduces greatly within a few hours. It may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours after treatment. Using Skin Cocktail ( given by Feel The Heal) after the procedure can help reduce inflammation, and sunscreen can be used to protect the skin. Makeup use should be limited to mineral makeup and not used within 48 hours after.
Can Microneedling be performed on any skin color?
Microneedling is safe to use on all skin types and colors without risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. If you do suffer from hyper-pigmentation it is contraindicated
Is Microneedling painful?
Prior to the Microneedling, numbing cream can be applied to minimize pain that is felt during the procedure.
Can Microneedling procedures be repeated?
Microneedling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks as needed. Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6. 4 to 6 weeks should pass between one treatment and the next, and the number of treatments needed depends on individual cases. Micro-needling can be used on all parts of the body (face, neck, arms, legs, scars , stretch marks etc). Usually results begin to appear after the first treatment.
What are the side effects of the Microneedling procedure?
No negative side effects result from microneedling, and none have been seen in the more than 150,000 procedures that have been done worldwide.
Am I a candidate for the Microneedling?
Microneedling is safe on all skin types and colors because the skin is not damaged during treatment. The chance of change in pigmentation or post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation is minimal. Skin micro-needling can be used on sensitive and fragile areas (eyes, neck, back of hands) that cannot be treated easily with other procedures. Micro-needling is not recommended in clients who have used harsh products within the last three months. Or have open wounds, cuts or abrasions, have had radiation skin treatment within the last year, are suffering from any skin infection, condition, herpes simplex in the area of concern. Pregnant or breast feeding, have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing.
Maintaining Lasting Results
The effects of a microneedling unfortunately are not permanent. We recommend a maintenance program which could include quarterly procedures to keep skin looking it’s best.
*THE RESULTS DESCRIBED ARE NOT TYPICAL AND WILL VARY BASED ON A VARIETY OF FACTORS.
