SKINPEN® MICRONEEDLINGÂ
WE USE THE BEST FDA CLEARED DEVICE
SkinPen is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device on the market. It is clinically proven to remodel skin by triggering your skin’s natural wound healing response.
SkinPen is a high-quality form of microneedling. Microneedling uses tiny needles to create “micro” injuries on your skin. These tiny injuries tell your skin to produce greater amounts of collagen and elastin to heal itself. As a result, SkinPen can dramatically improve the quality and texture of your skin by stimulating skin cell turnover and bringing new skin cells to the surface. This results in smoother, more youthful skin.

FAQ
Microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation. For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, tighten skin, lighten brown spots or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. We also offer PRP as an add on to your Microneedling session.
Why Is PRP so important and how does it help the Microneedling session?
The addition of PRP from the blood may make microneedling more effective. The liquid in blood is plasma, while platelets are solid. Platelets help blood clot, so they are vital for healing wounds and injuries. Microneedling with PRP is a highly advanced technique that triggers collagen production and makes you feel youthful again as well as helping to heal much faster.

What can I expect after the treatment?
After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days most visible erythema will be absolved. Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment you’ll have an increase in collagen production. It takes at least four weeks to see full results. Usually on day 3 you will notice the ” Microneedle Glow” The new collagen will last for several years, which is why micro needling treatment is considered a very long lasting treatment.
What can be treated by Microneedling?
-
Helps to tighten the skin and restore elasticity to ageing and sun damaged skin
-
Reduces the appearance of stretch marks
-
Softens fine lines on the face, hands and décolleté
-
Thickens the skin to reduce lines and wrinkles
-
Reduction in the appearance of scarring
-
Helps reduce pigmentation marks
What is the process of the Microneedling session?
If you are receiving PRP your blood will be drawn first. Your skin will then be thoroughly cleansed and a topical local anesthetic cream will be applied to the area being treated. This is left on for around 15- 20 minutes to take effect. The cream is removed and the needling starts, which can take anything from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. You are then Masked for about 10min with a sheet mask to help minimize the redness and hydrate the skin.
How long does it take to see results
Most clients see full results at between four and six weeks following treatment. This gives your body enough time to produce collagen and elastin and to send it to your micro wounds. At this point, you'll notice your skin looking both younger and healthier. However many clients say that after day 3 you can see the 'microneedling glow' and will notice your skin already tighter and brighter looking.
How many sessions will I need?
This will be dependent on a number of factors including age, area being treated, skin condition and damage. In most cases it is usually a course of either 3 or 6 treatments, generally spaced between 4 and 8 weeks apart. It is recommended a one-off treatment is performed every 6 months to maintain the effects.
Are there any side effects from microneedling?
Microneedling is generally considered a safe and effective cosmetic procedure when performed by a trained and experienced professional. However, like any medical or aesthetic treatment, there can be potential side effects, though they are typically mild and temporary. Some of the common side effects of microneedling may include:
-
Redness: Mild to moderate redness and skin irritation is common immediately after the procedure, but it usually subsides within a few days.
-
Swelling: Some degree of swelling, particularly around the treatment area, may occur and usually resolves within a day or two.
-
Peeling and Flaking: The treated skin may peel or flake as it heals, which is a normal part of the process.
-
Sensitivity: Skin may be more sensitive and prone to sunburn for a few days post-treatment, so it's important to use sunscreen and protect your skin from excessive sun exposure.
-
Minor Bruising: Bruising is rare but can occur in some cases, particularly if deeper microneedling techniques are used.
-
Infection: Although infections are rare, there is a slight risk, especially if proper post-treatment care and hygiene guidelines are not followed.
Can Microneedling be performed on any skin color?
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types, however, it is not suitable for clients who:
-
Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions to the skin.
-
Have had radiation treatment within the last year.
-
Have a current outbreak of herpes simplex (cold sores) active acne, or any other infection or chronic skin condition in the area to be treated.
-
Have areas of the skin that are numb or lack sensation.
-
Are pregnant or breast feeding.
-
Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing.
What does microneedling feel like?
The Microneedling procedure feels similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin. Esthetician numbs you as well for your comfort. Expect areas around the eyes and forehead to be a little more sensitive but the short-time discomfort is well worth the results.
Can Microneedling help with hair growth?
While microneedling revs up collagen production in the scalp just like it does on the face, it also brings blood flow and nutrients to the scalp and induces new stem cells that support hair growth. Microneedling can boost scalp health in such a way as to treat and prevent hair loss, keeping hair full and healthy for longer. Clients who use microneedling in conjunction with traditional hair loss therapies showed a greater improvement in hair re-growth after only 12 weeks. A typical microneedling session may last 45 minutes to an hour—give or take on how many areas you choose. First, your Esthetician will cleanse your scalp and use high frequency to stimulate the follicles, if you choose to add prp ( which we highly recommend as its your bodies own plasma) that will be added to the scalp along with growth serums and Amplixin and they will begin microneedling by puncturing the skin using an electric FDA approved skin needling pen. Following the procedure, you can expect to see new hair growth in four to six weeks. Most will need several sessions as it can take months to see real growth results. We recommend a series of 4-6 sessions with a return of every 4-6 weeks. Since microneedling is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment, side effects are generally minimal. These include localized swelling and bleeding, soreness a week after treatment, and increased sun sensitivity for up to two weeks post-treatment,
What can I do to prepare for microneedling
Drinking a large amount of water so you are hydrated can benefit the out come as well as the blood draw if you are receiving prp. As well removing all make up prior to the session so your face is ready for the process. Stay away from any harsh exfoliations, or products 48 hours prior to the session.
Microneedle roller vs. pen? Which is better?
The professional pen far outweighs any of the rollers
-
More precise:
Microneedling pens can easily treat those hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, nose and upper lip whereas it is more difficult to reach these areas with traditional rollers.
2. Customised treatment:
Needle depth can be adjusted with Microneedling Pen whereas the Microneedling Rollers can only reach a single depth. The benefit of adjusting needle depth allows us to cater to different areas of the face that require different penetration levels for best results.
This is extremely important when treating specific skin concerns such as acne scarring or delicate areas of the face such as the eye area.
3. Less epidermal damage resulting in minimal down time
The needles in Microneedling Pens penetrate the skin vertically whereas with Microneedling rollers the needles penetrate the skin at an angle causing more chance of ‘tears’ through the skin leading to more side effects and therefore longer recovery time.
