Be In The Know

  • For the first 48 hrs just wash face with water only.  For optimum results do nothing for the 2 days following treatment. This is so no chemicals/ products interfere with the healing process and skin can heal with minimal products being used.

  • You may then start to use the hyaluronic/Vitamin C serum Feel The Heal gives you. This will hydrate the skin and help ward off the sun keeping that hyperpigmentation from coming.

  • As a general rule, you should use sunscreen constantly for the first 2 weeks after microneedling. However the first 48 hours please just try to stay out of the sun so you do not have to apply sunscreen products that may have ingredients that will irritate your new skin ( if you cannot avoid sun then use a thin layer) Make sure to apply sunscreen anytime you go outside in the days following your treatment after the 48 hour window of healing.

  • Don’t spend prolonged time out in the sun for the first week after your microneedling procedure, as you’ll be more prone to sun damage than usual.

  • Wash your hands before you touch your face.

  • Don’t put on makeup, especially with a makeup brush that has been used before, in the 48 hours following microneedling.

  • You’ll also need to avoid swimming pools, saunas, and situations where you might sweat heavily, including intense workouts at the gym, to protect your newly treated skin. After 48 hours have passed OR you are no longer red or sore, you may be able to resume these activities.

For the first few days after your microneedling procedure, you’ll need to avoid any skin care product that contains harsh chemicals meant to exfoliate. Avoid anything that’s scented or unnatural, and don’t use glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acids.

Once 2 full days have passed, you can gradually add products back into your daily beauty routine instead of doing your usual regimen, especially if you use products that have strong anti-aging formulas.

Hyaluronic acid can be used following microneedling,  to help stimulate collagen production after your procedure.

If your skin is feeling dry, it’s generally safe to apply a clean brand moisturizer or Egyptian Magic as an emollient to lock in moisture and hydrate your face. After microneedling. Also using a gentle cleanser may also be used to cleanse and a gentle toner to dry skin. Stick to using gentle, natural ingredients that you’re familiar with. Your skin may appear darker if your session was focused on hyperpigmentation or melasma for 14 days sometimes a little more before it will start to lighten. The micro blading helps to lift and break up the pigment and melanin and then the body will digest it. Once healed you may also use Feel The Heal's Kojic acid serum to continue to help brighten and keep the pigment from forming more.

After you have a microneedling procedure, some side effects are to be expected. When you leave your appointment, your skin may be flushed or bright red, as if you have spent the entire day out in the sun and have a mild to moderate sunburn.
The redness and swelling will most likely persist for 24 hours or slightly longer. Even with careful aftercare, there isn’t much you can do to get rid of the redness immediately after microneedling and the skin may appear darker in areas of hyperpigmentation and Melasma. This will start to fade over time.
Covering up the redness with makeup is one of the worst things you can do, as the makeup will block the pores on your newly exposed skin and might even cause breakouts. You’ll need to have some patience as the redness subsides, but in the meantime, you can apply the serum given or sheet masks for relief.
Swelling, some skin peeling, even itching are all considered to be within the realm of normal up to 48 hours after the procedure. Other side effects, like bumps, breakouts, and dry skin, are also within the scope of what you may experience after microneedling, but not everyone will experience them.
Taking care of your skin with a gentle moisturizer and natural gentle cleansers can make your side effects as minimal as possible.

Microneedling For Hairloss Aftercare

It is advisable to only wash hair with clean water for the first 24 hours following the session. This allows the follicles to heal without too many ingredients absorbing. You may then wash your scalp with a gentle shampoo after the 24 hours. We also advice purchasing Amplixin or  Moerie Intensive Biotin Hair Serum and PURA D'OR Anti-Thinning Biotin Shampoo & Conditioner. Keep this routine for a minimum of 6 months.
